A site location plan will include information about the primary building, auxiliary structures like garages, roadways, barns, sheds, etc., and landscaping elements like trees, gardens, walkways, flowerbeds, and so on. A building site plan is instrumental in helping the developers, their teams and prospective buyers understand the interactions between the various outdoor elements within and beyond the property’s premises.

a) Site Plan

Purpose: Provides a comprehensive view of the entire property and how the building fits within its surroundings.

  • Building Footprint: Shows the outline of the building on the property.
  • Landscaping: Includes trees, gardens, and other green spaces.
  • Utilities: May indicate locations for sewer lines, water pipes and electrical connections.
  • Topography: Sometimes includes elevation changes and other topographical features.

b) Building Plan

Purpose: Details the entire structure of the building, including architectural and engineering elements.

  • Architectural Layout: Shows the design and dimensions of the building's structure.
  • Structural Details: Includes information on the foundation, beams, columns and load-bearing walls.
  • Materials: Specifies the materials to be used in construction.
